Lesson 1: Grow up because you want to, not because you have to

I never realized that my last time playing with a Barbie would be the last time I ever played with a Barbie. I never realized that my last time watching Dora would be the last time I watched Dora. When did I grow up? When did listening to Disney soundtracks turn into Lana Del Rey? When did princess clothing turn into $80 hoodies? From the moment we're born it's always onto the next big thing. You just took your first steps? Wonderful! Now speak. You just graduated from kindergarten? Congrats! Now graduate high school. Why is it that society can never remain in the moment? Does the pressure of time play into it? Would things be the same if time was infinite? Not sure I'll ever know the answer to this but read along with me as I explore life in a new state as a college student. 18, no money, no family, no friends. Just a girl with an outlet. Maybe if I never put that Barbie doll down, I would still be watching Dora in my Belle dress and listening to "The Bear Necessities" (I was quite the multitasker). Oh, how I wish I never put down that Barbie.
